Hello and welcome to British Whiskers Cattery where we raise the luxurious British Shorthair to perfection. As a short introduction, my name is Kate and I started our cattery along with my husband Jared, our daughter and three boys a few years ago. Our family has had a dream of having designer cats, actually since 2017, when we started a diligent search into the many different exotic breeds. After a couple more years of careful research, we decided on the British Shorthair. We were blessed to have a well researched British Shorthair breeder in California that took us under her wing as a faithful mentor and guide in giving us direction as to what traits, bloodlines and qualities we should be searching for, giving us the information we needed to start our own cattery on a solid foundation. Finally, in 2020, we found our dream kitty, his name is Percival and he has become the King and mascot of our cattery. When we saw his gorgeous, blue eyes, fluffy dense coat and all the traits we had been searching for, we arranged for him to be hand delivered to us from Ekaterinburg, Siberia. (We have additional information about him on his write up page as to why we’re so excited to have found a cat like him with such rare traits and exotic markings) In short, we are a family-owned cattery that loves helping true cat lovers find the perfect addition to their life. We breed a variety of designer golden, silver and white chinchilla colors of the British Shorthair. We only breed the British Shorthair and never practice any inbreeding. We are located in the countryside, just outside of Spokane, WA, where we own a large house and property in a beautiful and peaceful setting, which our cats get to enjoy alongside us. They live with us in our house, playing alongside our children, getting the socialization and handling they need from the very beginning and are never crated. All our breeding cats come from the highest quality European bloodlines giving our kittens all the necessary traits to be the best family or show quality kittens.

“What makes our cattery the best?”
We strive for the highest quality attainable – not quantity. We don’t cut corners, rather we consistently hold ourselves to the highest standards of transparency. My goal is to give you only the absolute healthiest, trained and adorable kitten as possible.
All of our breeding adults are genetically tested and selected against health issues and come from carefully selected, healthy bloodlines with championship pedigrees. Each of them also has the following vet procedures and health tests performed by our local veterinarian. I’ve established a good rapport with our local veterinarian, where they have access to all of our cattery health records. We encourage you as a soon-to-be kitty parent to do your due diligence about the cattery you obtain your kitten from. If you would like to verify our cattery with our veterinarian, you are more than welcome and even encouraged to reach out to them. Our veterinarian is “Mt. Spokane Veterinary Hospital” located off of N Newport Hwy, just outside of Spokane, WA. You can easily look them up online and give them a call.
